City of Wolverhampton Council will be reviewing the late-night licence for the Triangle Bar and Grill in Bank Street, Bradley, following several complaints and concerns from West Midlands Police. The council was drawn to two incidents in December last year following a tip-off – one of which police later confirmed was an alleged kidnapping and another which saw fighting outside the venue resulting in its glass entrance being smashed.

The former Eli-Fletcher Sons of Rest building in Oak Road, West Bromwich, was sold by Sandwell Council in 2018 and has remained empty since. But new plans submitted to the Black Country local authority could see the decaying building demolished to make way for a new four-bed house. The community facility opened in the early 1950s as part of a movement to provide leisure clubs for retired men around Birmingham and the Black Country.

Andrea Parsons has applied to City of Wolverhampton Council for a new sexual entertainment venue licence for the Foxy Lady club in Bilston. The venue, which includes a sex shop, cinema and strip club, closed earlier this year. The application asks for permission to open from midday to 6am every day. No objections have been made to the plans by any of the responsible authorities, the council said. The council’s regulatory committee will meet in Wolverhampton on June 3 to decide on the application.

The now empty Victoria Palace banqueting hall in Pope Street, Smethwick, would be transformed into warehouses, offices and industrial units with the plans set to go before councillors next week. Sandwell Council said the application would be decided by its planning committee as a petition against the move signed by 11 people had been submitted.

City of Wolverhampton Council had rejected two planning applications to convert the home in Redhouse Road, Tettenhall, Wolverhampton into a children’s home for up to three children. But the government’s planning inspectors have now overruled the local authority, saying the move can go ahead. This was despite the council saying there was “no demonstrable need” for the children’s home.
