A grocery store in the Inland Empire is stirring up a debate among shoppers as it implemented a bag policy that one may see at large stadiums or concert venues: Checking out large bags at the door. The Grocery Outlet in Hemet is not shy about the policy as it posted a sign that reads, "No purses, bags or backpacks allowed in store," asking customers to leave their shopping and personal bags, anything larger than a handbag, in the front with a cashier.

An Inland Empire family is mourning the loss of a 79-year-old father who was killed during a carjacking on Monday. James Norman of Corona was vacuuming his car at the car wash of a Norco gas station when a man approached his vehicle and hopped into the driver's seat. Norman was partially inside the rear seat at the time and got stuck when the thief took off. He was dragged about a mile away and died of his injuries.

After a baby was found in a dumpster in Riverside on Sunday, police Wednesday looked for the woman who gave birth to the infant primarily to offer her medical assistance. After being found inside the dumpster of an apartment complex with his umbilical cord still attached, the newborn boy is now safely being treated in a hospital, police said.
