As 2024 comes to a close, there is no doubt it has been another year with lower transaction volumes of parks and a more cautious sentiment, though whilst there have been fewer active buyers in the market strong levels of demand between those buyers has resulted in some notable and sizeable transactions taking place throughout the year. As the sun shone for the first time in 2024, our specialist caravan and holiday parks team completed the retirement sale of Southfork Caravan Park in Somerset. Set within an attractive rural setting between Martock and South Petherton, the park offered a long established, low density touring and static park providing consent for 16 static pitches, 30 touring pitches and storage with 12 months use.

Sanderson Weatherall has advised Wiltshire-based BIL Group on the acquisition of a castors distributor, which will create the largest group of its type in the UK. The deal, which was backed by a £4.5m finance package from Arbuthnot Commercial Asset Based Lending, saw BIL Group acquire H Varley Limited of Altrincham.

Sanderson Weatherall has appointed Liz McLoughlin as its new Northeast regional board member. Liz, who has been at the firm for 16 years, is also partner in Sanderson Weatherall’s compulsory purchase team and a shareholder at the firm. Liz will be succeeding Richard Farr, who will be stepping down from the position after 15 years to concentrate on his work in compulsory purchase.

BGC Wholesale operates through a network of nine branches across the UK and Ireland. The two businesses that BGC Wholesale has acquired are Paul White Ltd and Tiger Feet Ltd, an online retailer of partyware and balloons.
