For the second year in a row, the University of Hawai‘i water polo team advanced to the Final Four with an 8-7 win over Cal in Indianapolis on Friday. The Rainbow Wahine improved to 22-4 overall for the 2025 season and advance to play No. 1 Stanford on Saturday at 6 a.m. HST. After overcoming a sluggish start, the University of Hawai‘i men's volleyball team advanced to the NCAA national semifinals with a 25-19, 21-25, 25-23, 25-23 win over Penn State at the quarterfinals in Columbus, Ohio on Thursday. Hawai‘i improved to 27-5, while Penn State's season ended at 15-16 overall. In a match that started at 7:30 a.m. HST, the Nittany Lions pounced on the Rainbow Warriors early, jumping out to a 5-0 lead in the opening set.

After a battle with pancreatic cancer, surfing legend Clyde Aikau passed away at his Waimānalo home on Saturday. He was 75. News of Aikau's death went public on Monday afternoon after his family announced the news. Clyde Aikau is the younger brother of iconic Hawaiian Eddie Aikau, the former lifeguard, surfer, waterman and namesake of the Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational.

The NFL's Los Angeles Rams are coming to Maui. On Monday, the Los Angeles Rams and the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority (HTA) announced a partnership to promote tourism in Maui and Hawai‘i. His parents, Barney and Terri-Ann, vowed from the very beginning to support him and place him in an optimal environment.
