TEXAS — Four Texas cities are leading the nation in residential construction, according to a from Consumer Affairs that ranked the top 30 U.S. cities building the most new homes. The study analyzed new building permits and new homes sold in the first two months of 2025 across 150 large U.S. cities. Houston is the frontrunner at No. 1 on the list. And the numbers don’t lie — in the first two months of 2025, more than 11,000 new building permits were issued in Space City.

SAN ANTONIO — A Bexar County woman is suing Bill Miller Bar-B-Q over claims that the restaurant served barbecue sauce that burned her 4-year-old son. It’s the third lawsuit brought against the chain in the last year. Rose Roque filed the lawsuit against Bill Miller Bar-B-Q Enterprises last week on behalf of her son, according to a report from KSAT.

SAN ANTONIO — Texas A&M San Antonio (TAMUSA) is getting a refresh after regents approved a $32 million expansion to construct a new facility for the school’s public safety extension agency. The Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service, or TEEX, is currently located off campus. The new facility is estimated to be 40,000 square feet and will be built on the Texas A&M San Antonio campus, San Antonio Business Journal reports.

AUSTIN, Texas — Power has been restored for all affected by the destructive storm that slammed the Austin area last week and killed one person, according to Austin Energy. Crews worked long hours in the heat to replace 90 power poles and 35 transformers, fixing a total of 530 outages, the utility service said. At its height, over 72,500 Austin Energy customers were affected by power outages.
