The new head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security had just rescinded a 2011 policy that ensured immigration enforcement actions did not occur in or near sensitive locations, such as schools and churches, unless necessary. The shift, according to DHS, was to "not tie the hands" of law enforcement.

TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) - A man was injured after shooting himself in the leg during a struggle with a Travis County Sheriff's Office deputy Friday morning, TCSO said. It happened around 9:30 a.m. in the parking lot of Randall's on FM 620, near Lake Travis. TCSO Dispatch received a notification from the Austin Police Department about an allegedly stolen vehicle that was expected to move out of Austin and into the sheriff's office jurisdiction.
