A 30-year-old Danvers woman who went missing Tuesday afternoon was found dead in Wenham Lake in Beverly Wednesday, officials said. Owen Kasozi was last seen entering the J.C. Phillips Nature Preserve in Beverly near Wenham Lake about 3 p.m. Tuesday and did not return, triggering a search that involved multiple first responder departments, Beverly Police Chief John G. LeLacheur and Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker said.

The Salem Harbormaster’s office reported Sunday that a man suffered a head injury after he was ejected from one boat and struck by another. The man, who was in and out of consciousness after being struck, was transported to the Harbormaster’s Winter Island Road location about 7:30 p.m. to be treated by first responders. A med flight helicopter was requested to transport the injured man from Salem Willows Park to a hospital.

Swampscott Police Department has possibly become the only municipal police force with a specially designed uniform patch for Black History Month. The 32-person department created the patch “to recognize and pay respect to the month and to the community as a whole,” police officials said. The response has been overwhelmingly positive and the department is receiving requests the patches from other states, Chief Reuben Quesada said.
