The dream to retire in the Sunshine State is becoming harder to obtain for some families. A big driver in the dream crusher: insurance costs. Ed Hunds lives in Seattle and he’s been looking to retire with his wife to Florida. He says he is shocked by the prices of home insurance. Hunds currently pays $600 a year for his 2500 square-foot Seattle home. “They want 4 to 5 thousand dollars for a $400,000 home… So you know, that's a heck of a big difference,” Hunds said.

A 12-year-old girl is making a difference in Southwest Florida one paw at a time. Natalie Huntington created a nonprofit organization called Deck the Paws. She raises money to donate to local shelters, rescues, and families who can’t afford pet care. “100 percent of my money and profits goes to animal shelters and causes in SWFL,” Huntington said. Her inspiration is her cat, Luna, and Cash.
