Helping a Hero and Mattamy Homes, which team up to help severely injured veterans, were on hand for the event held in the Tradition community. The new house is being built for Cpl. Sue Crutchfield, a double amputee who was severely injured while serving in Afghanistan. Her team was on a mission when they hit two land mines.

    April is World Autism Month, and The Learning Academy in Jupiter is taking the opportunity to raise awareness and funds for its students with autism spectrum disorder. On April 26, the school will hold its biggest fundraising event of the year—a spectacular online auction and gala at Eastpointe Country Club. The Learning Academy, a charter school serving students aged 3-21, is located on the state-of-the-art Els Center of Excellence campus, built by the Els for Autism Foundation.

    PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — A food fight is brewing in Tallahassee over ultra processed foods being served in Florida public schools. Senate Bill 1826 was filed by Republican Senator Jonathan Martin. The bill would pull ultra processed foods and snacks from schools during school hours. The bill is being met with pushback from both state senators and lobbyists. Some state senators said the bill's language is too vague and doesn't give a clear definition of what is considered to be ultra processed foods.
