The centerpiece of plans to recalibrate mental health treatment in Palm Beach County moved closer to reality Wednesday with a government board’s decision to buy nearly 10 acres north of Southern Boulevard and west of Florida’s Turnpike. As experts predicted, the nearly double-digit increases in the Palm Beach County tax rolls slowed this year after a three-year ride. Property values rose 7.7% countywide, a slower increase than in the past three years when values rose 9.6% in 2024, 13.5% in 2023 and 15% in 2022. In a 134-page ruling, Administrative Law Judge Francine Ffolkes found in favor of the Florida Department of Transportation on every point disputed by the city. FDOT has pursued the 4-mile road extension from 60th Street to Northlake Boulevard since the 1990s.

No thanks.”The messages urged recipients to call their city commissioner. Many did. It didn’t stop the proposal from moving forward.
