    Jamaican reggae and roots reggae star Max Romeo passed away today in the company of his family. He had been hospitalised over the past few days, but died earlier today (April 11). Romeo achieved chart success in his home country and in the United Kingdom. He had several hits with the vocal group the Emotions. His song “Wet Dream” (1968) included overtly sexual lyrics and launched a new style of reggae. He is known for such iconic works as the critically acclaimed album, Let the Power Fall.

He was 65His wife, Malvia Scott, confirmed to The Gleaner that the veteran singer passed away at 4:46 this morning at a hospital in Broward, Ft Lauderdale, Florida.     Dancehall star Squash may be deported to Jamaica as he is now in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The 33-year-old entertainer, whose real name is Andrae Maurice Whittaker, is being held at the Krome North Service Processing Center in Miami as of March 5. This development follows his February 24 arrest in Miami on charges of firearm possession and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.
