WHEATLAND – A celebration of life will be held Tuesday for Marysville police officer Osmar Rodarte, who was shot and killed while on duty last month. Rodarte was fatally shot while serving a search warrant in Olivehurst. The Yuba County Sheriff's Office says it was part of a multi-year investigation into a transnational drug trafficking operation, one of around 20 search warrants that were being served that day across multiple counties.

DAVIS – Thousands of University of California workers have gone on strike across the state over what they say are unfair labor practices at the university. Physician assistants, optometrists, pharmacists, registered nurse case managers and mental health clinicians are just some of the groups striking on Wednesday. These strikes are taking place at hospitals, campuses and laboratories.

(FOX40.COM) A real-life Grinch seems to have struck in South Sacramento. Resident Dan Kaufeldt said he woke up this week to find his handmade Grinch decoration taken from his yard. No surveillance video of the crime has surfaced, according to Kaufeldt, who added that people should be able to spot his decoration because it has a teddy bear poking out of the sash. Kaufeldt has worked as a sign artist for Trader Joe’s for nearly 20 years and was even featured in the Washington Post for his artwork.

(FOX40.COM) — A Christmas tree lot in Galt is back in business after thieves made cuts to the fence and stole some trees, according to organizers. The tree lot is run by Galt and Stockton Sea Scouts and the money raised looks to help with the organization’s costs like registration fees, maintenance of equipment, and operation costs. Organizers believe the total losses are between $1,000 and $2,500.

(FOX40.COM) — Homeless advocates unveiled a new housing complex to help get people off the streets in Stockton. Town Center Studios on 1604 N. Wilson Way has transformed 40 motel rooms into studio apartments in hopes of providing housing to people for the long haul. The Stockton development is a California Homekey project that converted the Relax Inn on North Wilson Way into a housing solution for people experiencing homelessness.
