The Triple-A minor league team for the San Francisco Giants will play select games during the 2025 season as the Sacramento Gold Diggers. The new identity features a black-and-gold theme inspired by California’s gold mining era. According to the Modesto Fire Department, crews received reports after 3 p.m. of a car crashing into a bank on the 2900 block of Standiford Avenue. When a crew arrived, they found a vehicle upside down inside the bank and against the facility's main electrical panel. The fire department said the car hit the north side of the building.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Former late-night talk show host and car enthusiast Jay Leno was at the California State Capitol Tuesday advocating for a bill that would relax smog rules for classic cars. SB 712, dubbed “Leno’s Law,” proposes a full exemption for collector vehicles 35 years and older from California’s smog check requirements. If passed, the bill would also exempt classic cars upon transfer of ownership.
