A west London domestic abuse charity has been shortlisted for this year’s Charity Awards, the most prestigious awards scheme in the sector. Advance has been shortlisted for its Angelou Partnership, which supports women in west London who have experienced domestic abuse. The partnership is made up of 10 voluntary organisations, each offering a different kind of specialist support including services tailored to Black and minority women and LGBT+ communities.

A historic football shirt worn by England’s 1966 World Cup legend George Cohen is set to go under the hammer at auction this June. The red Bukta No.2 shirt is estimated to sell for between £2,000-3,000 at Graham Budd Auctions’ Sporting Memorabilia Four-Day Sale. Worn by Mr Cohen during his second international appearance for England in a 1964 friendly against Portugal, the shirt will be offered as Lot 792 in the auction, with bidding concluding on June 4.

Kensington and Chelsea has ushered in a new mayor after an annual council vote on Wednesday. Councillor Tom Bennett was elected as Mayor of Kensington and Chelsea for 2025-26, taking over the position from cllr Will Lane.
