    BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo police officer Daniel Candelario died due to complications from the flu after returning from a guys trip to Las Vegas, according to his widow. He was 34 years old. Dariana "Dottie" Candelario said her husband stayed at a home where there was a sick child. It was later confirmed the child had the flu. Upon returning to Buffalo, she said her husband, who never gets sick, complained that he was not well.

The 5/14 Commission says a living memorial and museum will be built right on Jefferson, to honor the victims and educate future generations on the fight against racism. There is now the 5/14 Memorial Foundation. It's an entity that will soon have  501(c)(3). Pastor Mark Blue chairs the foundation and commission.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. — Retired Buffalo Police officer Cariol Horne is on trial for her actions during the Christmas Day blizzard in 2022 on Bailey Avenue. Buffalo City Court Judge Tiffany Perry dismissed the disorderly conduct charge. The prosecution finished presenting its case on Monday with two witnesses, both Buffalo Police officers. Their last witness was officer Edward Byrd. His lengthy cross-examination at times was contentious about body camera policies and transporting suspects.
