A few weeks ago, beloved Gen Z Youtuber Emma Chamberlain (once called “the most important youtuber today” by Taylor Lorenz in The Atlantic) posted a YouTube video titled “i got rid of (almost) everything” about her epic closet cleanout. The video starts with a montage of old haul videos and a voiceover where she describes her mindset shift:I really thought that having a closet full of clothes would bring me joy, would inspire me. I thought I would be infinitely more fashionable and stylish.

It’s November 5: Election Day in America. Before I say anything else, please VOTE TODAY. Remember that you are legally entitled to paid time off work to vote in most states, and as long as you are in line by the time polls close, you have a legal right to vote. This is my first presidential election while living in Texas, and in a red state. I canvassed for Austin mayoral candidate Carmen Llanes Pulido, and I’ll be poll greeting for her later today. I provided voter info to everyone I know.

I started working with two new clients, Iā€™ve turned in three freelance articles, and I went to a newsletter writersā€™ networking event. Iā€™m projected to have my second-highest earning month of 2024. I also followed up on two pitches I sent out on at the end of August, but I think theyā€™re both dead in the water, so itā€™s time for me to pitch them elsewhere, and pitch a couple of ideas Iā€™ve been sitting on that I really care about.
