May 24-AMBOY - Getting out to a strong start mattered for Fulton when it meant the most on Saturday, being on a task to win its fourth straight regional baseball championship. With six runs in the first inning in the Class 1A Amboy Regional title game, the Steamers built a lead large enough that Forreston couldn't erase in a 7-4 win at Amboy City Park's Parker Field.

May 23-FULTON - With a large 2018 regional championship sign being looked at all year on their home field's backstop, the Fulton Steamers wanted to add another to it Friday in the 1A regional final they hosted against Putnam County. Kylie Smither and her fellow senior teammates waited four years to get that next sign - and regional plaque, too. Smither led her team with two RBIs in the first two innings as the Steamers cruised to a 10-1 win over the Panthers at Drives Park.

This year’s race runs from Friday, June 20, to Sunday, June 22, at Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa, located within The Galena Territory, and the race isn’t the only thing people can enjoy.

The Ganymedes Vintage Base Ball Club of Oregon kicks off its 2025 season this weekend. That's a two-word "base ball," as how it was written around 150 years ago; games are played under the rules of that time.

The Ganymedes’ home venue, south of the Chana School Museum home at Oregon Park East, can not be used for 2025 games due to renovation work at Park East. https://t.co/f3loDBR5PU

#ThePecThing is this weekend. One of the Midwest's largest flea markets will be at the Winnebago County Fairgrounds in #Pecatonica. Haven't heard of it? Read about it in my story from April's Lake Lifestyle magazine, linked below: https://t.co/Xu303FxjJx https://t.co/Xs576tSEUi
