Nearly six months after altering traffic patterns on northbound SH 121 near Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, The Texas Department of Transportation made more changes April 12-13. Zooming in There are three northbound lanes on SH 121, which was how the traffic pattern was previously, and two going south on I-635. According to a news release from TxDOT, work on SH 121 from SH 114 to Bass Pro Drive was done starting late April 12.

American Airlines has announced a new destination in Mexico that will start in December from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. What you need to know The Fort Worth-based airline will fly to Puerto Escondido International Airport twice a week—Wednesday and Sunday—starting Dec. 3, according to a news release. Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, is located near the Pacific Ocean. American Airlines will use an Embraer E715, operated by regional partner American Eagle, to fly the route.
New condominiums to be ready in Southlake Town Square by fall

Kairoi Residential is bringing more housing options to Southlake Town Square. The San Antonio-based company is constructing 55 condominiums called the Residences at Southlake, located at 1530 Meeting St. in Southlake. Plans for a Burger King restaurant and an office building behind it were denied during a joint Grapevine City Council and Grapevine Planning and Zoning Commission meeting April 15. Both boards voted 7-0 on the denial. The detailsAccording to the presentation, Dossani Paradise Management was awarded a B-K Sizzle design for the proposed Grapevine location located at 834 E. Northwest Highway. The Sizzle design is part of a $400 million investment that offers ordering kiosks.
Rezoning of 7.68 acres paves way for senior housing complex in Fort Worth

The Fort Worth City Council approved a rezoning request for a 7.68-acre tract of land near Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance to make way for a senior living center. Current situationThe rezoning for 10620 N. Riverside Drive currently is from general commercial restricted to low-intensity mixed-use. According to a presentation at the April 8 meeting, the future use of the land will be for the independent senior living complex and commercial properties.

The playoff picture finally came into focus for softball teams throughout the state. The Class 1A playoffs will feature one-game playoffs, while Class 2A and 3A will have best-of-three series to decide to moves on to the area round. From Class 2A-6A, there will be two champions per division this year for the first time ever. That is in line with a change that UIL made to make the other sports mirror football.

Renovations have begun at Grapevine City Hall. The project started this spring and and should be done by late summer, Grapevine Marketing and Communications Manager Mona Quintanilla said. The gistGrapevine City Council approved a contract with Fransen Pittman Construction not to exceed $860,622 during a Dec. 3, 2024, meeting. The City Hall will include changes focused on the lobby, according to city documents.

Congrats to Collin Lafferty from the Liberty North baseball team for winning last week's SB Live/High School on SI athlete of the week poll with 63% of the vote. Luther Burden III was not the first top-ranked wide receiver to play for the Missouri Tigers. But he was the best of the small fraternity. A St. Louis native, Burden will soon hear his name at the upcoming NFL Draft. Burden has been one of the most well-known players in the state of Missouri since 2018. When he signed with Missouri on Dec. 15, 2021, he became the Tigers’ highest-ranked recruit to join since wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham.
