Missouri men’s basketball (2-1) faced Eastern Washington (1-2) at Mizzou Arena for their third game of the 2024-25 season. Missouri took the victory 84-77 on the back of a career day from Caleb Grill. The Tigers rolled with the same starting lineup it used against Howard with Tony Perkins, Annor Boateng and Tamar Bates at the guard positions in addition to Mark Mitchell and Josh Gray in the frontcourt. Aidan Shaw, Anthony Robinson ll and Grill subbed in early as Missouri trailed 4-12.

In the modern era of college athletics, the transfer portal has become a more common tool in rebuilding athletic programs. Missouri volleyball has had five transfers with over 53 sets played this season. The Tigers’ most recent transfer class featured Marina Crownover and Mychael Vernon, who both lead the team in total assists and kills, respectively. The duo works in tandem on the court, thanks to a strong relationship, on and off the court.

Missouri volleyball continued its win streak with three wins against Georgia, South Carolina and No. 9 Texas. This extended their winning streak to nine matches as the Tigers are now ranked No. 25 in the AVCA rankings. Here is what we learned from the past three wins. In Missouri’s past three matches, at least two players registered double-digit kills in each match. Colleen Finney, Janet deMarrais, Jordan Iliff and Mychael Vernon all had at least one 10-plus kill outing over the three-game stretch.

Missouri volleyball (17-5, 8-2 SEC) extended their winning streak to eight with a home win against Georgia (9-12, 3-8 SEC). The Tigers won 3-1 (25-18, 25-12, 26-28, 25-17) over the Bulldogs, holding their opponents to a .163 hitting percentage. The first set of play was a game of runs and both teams made small scoring bursts. Jordan Iliff attacked the ball with great efficiency early on, burying three kills on four attacks and making three digs.

Missouri men’s basketball traveled to Memphis for their first game of the 2024-25 season. Missouri lost the matchup 83-75 due to a second half collapse. Missouri’s starting five included Anthony Robinson ll, Tamar Bates and Caleb Grill at the guard positions and Mark Mitchell and Josh Gray in the frontcourt. Iowa transfer Tony Perkins was the first sub into the game and had a shaky debut for the black and gold.
