BOSTON (SHNS) – Having spent the last two and a half weeks running “numbers games,” House and Senate negotiators struck an agreement Monday on how to divvy up more than $1.3 billion in surplus revenue generated by the state’s surtax on household income in excess of about $1 million. The compromise budget would divide the surplus surtax revenues more evenly than the House had approved but not as close to a 50/50 split as the Senate had backed.

BOSTON — A Superior Court judge this week denied Treasurer Deborah Goldberg’s bid to keep most of the roughly 3,000-page administrative record related to her contested firing of former Cannabis Control Commission chair Shannon O’Brien impounded by the court. Goldberg suspended O’Brien as CCC chairwoman in September 2023 and fired her in September 2024 after considering two outside investigations and about 19 hours of private meetings held last summer.

RT @liberofootball: Spurs vs Man Utd. Europa League glory on the line — and it’s all going down in Bilbao. Here’s your #liberoguide to matc…

Did you know @bookingcom do a fantastic rip-off offer? It involves advertising a room in York at Ashbourne House, paying for it but when you get to there, booking doesn't exist, b&b chucks you out, @bookingcom do not answer phone then on email refuse to refund money. Disgrace

Big day for @SpennymoorTown tomorrow so time to pen a piece for the marvellous @liberofootball https://t.co/qhQqUKo5hV
