    East Syracuse, N.Y. — Marcellus boys lacrosse outlasted Skaneateles 11-10 to win the Section III Class D championship on Wednesday night at East Syracuse Minoa High School. Jimmy Cox hit the game-winner seven seconds into the second overtime. The Lakers went up 5-1 after the first quarter thanks to two goals from Charlie Carbonaro and some great distribution by Luke Mizro. They extended their advantage to as much as 8-2 and led 8-3 at halftime.

    East Syracuse, N.Y. — Jamesville-DeWitt rolled through the Class C sectional tournament yet again on Wednesday evening, topping Homer 20-5 for its third straight Class C title. The Red Rams went up 8-2 after the first quarter, powered by four Andrew Laubenstein goals, and extended their lead to 16-2 by halftime. The entire second half was played with a running clock. J-D (15-3) beat Homer (11-8) in the Class C final last season, 18-4, and in the Class C semifinals two years ago, 14-9.
