LOS ANGELES - At Pasadena's AC Hotel earlier this month, dozens of protesters gathered in an effort to confront federal agents who had arrived in town amid demonstrations against the Trump administration's mass deportation effort. Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo was among those present on June 7 as demonstrators holding signs with "ICE out of Pasadena" and other messages chased federal vehicles out of the luxury hotel's parking garage, cheering and recording it all on their cellphones.

LOS ANGELES - A typical Monday afternoon in Compton was shattered for several neighbors who saw, to their surprise, a drab green military-style vehicle roll up. A person stood in the open hatch wearing fatigues, a helmet and what they said appeared to be body armor. Residents who spoke to The Times said it was an immigration enforcement team using an armored vehicle for a raid in which a family including children was detained.

I quit drinking 4 yrs ago this past Sunday. Best decision I ever made. Another great decision was joining the Journalists Recovery Network's advisory committee last year. Incredible resource & great group of people. My DMs are open if you're struggling & need someone to talk to.

Today, the Journalists Recovery Network turns 1. It's an exciting milestone, as I never could have anticipated how much I would learn, & the impact we would have in a short year. We've grown and aspire to continue that growth. But I am thankful for all the support thus far. 🧵
