MONROE — After Sterling State Park cancelled their summer fireworks show, Tino Amaya and Deb Staelgraeve came together to find a way to replace it. Their solution: a drone show. After discussions the fire marshal and the City of Monroe, they concluded that they didn't have a proper blast radius for a fireworks display in the city. Staelgraeve came up with the drone show as a solution and Amaya agreed. "It's a really cool, unique opportunity," Amaya said.

MONROE — Christopher Wilhelm, a former Bedford High School teacher and assistant football coach was sentenced in the 38th district court by Judge Daniel White to 60 months to 15 years in the Michigan Department of Corrections and to be put on the sex offender registry. Wilhelm was charged in August 2024 with crimes related to a sexual relationship with a student.
