    TEMPERANCE — Students of Jackman Road Elementary School gathered in the gym Thursday, June 5, to watch the fifth-graders take on the teachers in the annual scooter ball games. The students and staff were divided into multiple teams and faced each other in several games of basketball played on scooters for more than an hour. The sound of cheering from the students is so loud that it can be heard outside the building.

    BERLIN TOWNSHIP — The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is investigating reports of someone shooting from their vehicle. On Tuesday, June 3, at 11:15 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 4000 block of South Huron River Drive after a 911 caller said a vehicle was passing through the area when an occupant fired a gun eight times. While canvassing the area, deputies found a vehicle matching the description in the 14000 block of Chamberlin Road.
