Local officials requested prosecutors dismiss court cases of 3 migrant workers to speed along their deportation. The men were charged with a newly created misdemeanor state immigration offense which was halted by a federal judge April 4. The men worked as roofers and were arrested March 10 when deputies were investigating what turned out to be a false call of a burglary at an industrial complex, which housed the roofing business.

A missing wind surfer was found Saturday off Fort Pierce waters by the U.S. Coast Guard. The man was found after his kite was spotted in water by a St. Lucie County Fire Rescue helicopter.
