The school district said in a statement a group of students were at the Treasure Shores Park celebrating graduation. Andrew Michael Mustapick, 70, of the 1000 block of Morningside Drive, was charged with two counts of soliciting someone to tamper with a victim.

He was incarcerated at Indian River County Jail just before 10:30 p.m. on a $7 million bond. He's accused of seeking or attempted to seek services to "use intimidation or physical force, or threaten" to keep someone from testifying at a criminal proceeding.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – A teacher at a Vero Beach area preschool and daycare was arrested on a child abuse charge over what law enforcement authorities said were her aggressive actions toward an autistic student. The incident, which deputies said included forcefully grabbing and dragging the 4-year-old boy across the classroom floor, occurred April 29 at Kid City USA, 760 20th Avenue.

A Vero Beach area daycare and preschool teacher was arrested on a charge of child abuse without great bodily harm on April 29. The termination became the second in less than a year following a Sept. 2024 DCF inspection into complaints of "aggressive, demeaning or intimidating” behavior toward a student. A school owner said the business performs required background checks, but would not say if the teacher had been the subject of previous complaints.

VERO BEACH – One man was stabbed and another sustained a head injury in what police said was a "road rage" incident in the parking lot of a popular beach park. Both men were taken to hospitals following the altercation just after 6:30 p.m. at South Beach Park, 1702 Ocean Drive, April 27, fire and police officials said. “(One man) was stabbed in the abdomen,” said police spokesperson Kelsea Callahan on Monday.
