The 'Creep Tunnels', that lie beneath the old Palace and Floral Pavilion in New Brighton will be open on July 12 from 9pm until 2am the following day. The tunnels, located underneath Virginia Road and Balmoral Road are said to have been used by smugglers. During World War Two they were converted into a munitions factory and air raid shelters. They later became a nightclub known locally as 'The Creep Inn', but have been left abandoned and decaying for over 20 years.

WIRRAL's maritime industry is 'seeing an upsurge' after recent investment, according to the council leader and industry bosses. Recent news about the multimillion-pound investment into the 12 Quays Terminal has capped a series of improvements locally including new terminals at Seacombe, which was completed in 2022, and Woodside, which is ongoing.

WIRRAL Council's support for the Armed Forces community - including reservists, veterans, and military families - has been recognised with an award from the Ministry of Defence. The Silver Award has been granted to the authority for 'exceptional' service under its Defence Employer Recognition Scheme. The council is one of 307 organisations across the UK to be awarded the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award for 2025.

The Stables building is said to be one of the few surviving traces of the worker village’s industrial infrastructure and has sat empty for several years, but now the Port Sunlight Village Trust (PSVT) are searching for commercial tenants who can reawaken the ‘hidden gem’. Located behind the Gladstone Theatre, the Stables were built in 1894 and originally housed the horses used by Lever Brothers’ soap company that built the iconic village.
