Organized Retail Theft detectives contacted the suspect, who police say has been identified as Shaghayegh Abedi, for theft from a store during an undercover operation.

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A Fresno man pleaded guilty Wednesday to the sexual exploitation of children and the distribution and receipt of child pornography, the U.S. Department of Justice said. The DOJ said Monico Erich Gastelo, 43, of Fresno, sexually exploited children, including creating a social media account in 2019 where he claimed to be an 18-year-old. City officials announced that they have partnered with the Sierra Vista Mall and the Clovis Fire Department to help residents during periods of extreme heat. (KSEE/KGPE) – An inmate who chased and stabbed someone with a knife-like, jail-made weapon at the U.S. Penitentiary in Atwater was sentenced Wednesday, the U.S. Department of Justice said. On Wednesday, Delonte Williams, 37, of Washington, D.C., was sentenced to 33 months in prison in what the DOJ said for assault with a deadly weapon in the penitentiary in Atwater.

For children and teens ages one through 18, they will be able to get a free lunch at the various Tulare County library branches from Dinuba to Tipton. FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man who confessed to shooting someone on Mother’s Day in Fresno was arrested Thursday, the Fresno Police Department said. On May 11 at around 7:20 p.m., officers from the Southwest Policing District responded to the area of Belmont Avenue and First Street regarding a victim of a gunshot wound, police said. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, who was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.
Two DUI arrests in Madera with high breath alcohol content

MADERA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Two men who are accused of having nearly three times over the legal limit of breath alcohol content were arrested in Madera, police said Thursday. A traffic stop in the area of E. Central Avenue and S. E Street led to the arrest of a driver, who police identified as 27-year-old Sergio Hernandez-Cruz. Cruz was contacted and police said he exhibited signs of alcohol intoxication. The officer on scene conducted a DUI investigation.
