Rollins announced Sunday, effective immediately, the suspension of live cattle, horse and bison imports through U.S. ports of entry along the southern border because of the continued and rapid northward spread of New World screwworm in Mexico. In April, Rollins threatened to halt Mexico beef imports over the flesh-eating parasite outbreak if Mexico didn't cooperate to help stop the spread.
