    The National Weather Service issued a flood warning from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday for parts of northern Erie County and Niagara County due to thunderstorms producing heavy rain. The warning noted that high water may affect parts of I-190 and other highways from Buffalo and Cheektowaga northward to North Tonawanda and Lockport. Motorists were advised to turn around if they encountered flooded roads.

    Seven municipalities in Western New York will get a total of $829,540 for electric vehicle charging stations as part of New York State's Municipal Zero-Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Grants program, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced. The biggest grant – $285,007 – will go to the Town of Tonawanda for 16 Level 2 charging ports and one DCFC (Direct Current Fast Charging) pedestal. The Village of Springville will receive $248,000 to install one DCFC pedestal.

    A Fredonia woman alleged to have gotten food benefits by giving false information on her applications was arrested Monday on multiple felony counts, the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office reported. Tiffany A. Pratt, 30, is charged with third-degree grand larceny, third-degree welfare fraud, misuse of food stamps and six counts of offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree. She was issued tickets to appear in Fredonia Village Court.

    A fire that apparently started in brush near railroad tracks late Sunday afternoon spread to a roofing contractor's building in the Town of Wheatfield, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office reported. The blaze caused an undetermined amount of damage at Blue Ox Roofing, 2139 Lockport Road at Wendt Drive. A vehicle registered to the business also sustained damage, the Sheriff's Office said.

    A chronic shoplifter has been banished from the stores he stole from until 2038, Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced Monday, but that's not all. Corey Alan Anthony, 36, of Buffalo, will spend six of those years behind prison bars following sentencing last week by Erie County Court Judge Suzanne Maxwell Barnes. Barnes also ordered five more years of supervision for him after he is released and issued orders of protection until 2038 for the stores.
