A driver involved in a collision late Wednesday afternoon is alleged to have had a blood alcohol level 5½ times the legal limit, the Orchard Park Police Department reported. Christopher Piazza, 43, of Orchard Park, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated and making an unsafe turn. Police said the crash occurred about 6:40 p.m. near a gas station on South Buffalo Street. Piazza was arrested for DWI after field sobriety tests.

Two men from Yonkers were arrested last week after officers allegedly caught them stealing used cooking grease from a container behind a restaurant, Amherst police reported Wednesday. Yoandry Paulino-Tejada, 31, and Christhian Valdez Ruiz, 41, were charged with attempted petit larceny, a Class B misdemeanor, and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and possession of burglar's tools, both Class A misdemeanors.

A woman employed by the Seneca Nation has been arrested on accusations that she stole more than $21,000 from its Optical Division, the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office reported. Amy R. Hushon, 48, of Limestone, has been charged with third-degree grand larceny and is scheduled to appear in Salamanca City Court. The report said the arrest was made after an investigation by the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Bureau. It is alleged that the thefts took place over a period of time.

A Cheektowaga man has been indicted on a charge of second-degree manslaughter in connection with the death of his 21-month-old son, Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced. Jahmil A. Paisley, 31, was arraigned before State Supreme Court Justice Debra L. Givens and is being held without bail. If convicted of the charge, he faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison. Prosecutors said Paisley is alleged to have caused the death of his son Logan on Oct. 18.
