Belmont residents react to 4-vehicle fire at apartment complex

BELMONT, N.C. (WBTV) - An investigation is underway after a four-vehicle fire early Tuesday morning. The Gaston County Office of Emergency Management and Fire Services are trying to figure out what caused the vehicles to go up in flames. Cell phone video captured by one resident shows all four vehicles burning. The fire was reported at 12:26 a.m. and the Cramerton Fire Department was on scene four minutes later. Victoria Huitt who lives in the complex says she was awaken by a loud boom.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - After twelve years as the pontiff who many say was an inspiration and trailblazer in the Catholic faith, Pope Francis died of a stroke Monday morning. The Vatican said Francis died of a stroke that put him into a coma and led his heart to fail.

REAL ID’s have been issued in North Carolina for eight years now and people are paying attention. Everyone we spoke to Wednesday afternoon at the Charlotte airport had theirs but if you don’t have yours don’t look at the enforcement date, as a deadline.

Limited information was released but we understand the UNC-Charlotte Police Department is actively investigating. They’re looking into what was only described as a “sex offense”. Chloe Badie a student at UNC-Charlotte student described the moment she saw the message about what happened. “I was a little bit shocked when I heard the news.

Kim Guillot has been in a battle for her own home, and with the trial is now complete, we await the judge’s decision. In 2021, we met Guillot, who almost lost her home of 25 years because of a clerical error. The City of Carencro cut the grass on Guillot’s vacant lot on Kate Road, and billed her for it; which is not out of the ordinary.

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — More than six years have gone by since that September night in 2017, when a husband and wife were gunned down in a restaurant parking lot. Today, the man who was arrested for their murders, roams free and the daughter of the victims wants answers. On Sept. 29, 2017, Larry and Madrona Brown were killed in the parking lot after dining at a local restaurant. Their daughter, Briane Cahee, remembers the night her mother and stepfather were taken from her.
