Halifax Regional Police and Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency responded to a natural gas leak Tuesday morning in the 0-50 block of Primrose Street in Dartmouth. As a result, Primrose Street is closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic between Robert Burns Drive and Pinecrest Drive. Jackson Road is also closed between the same cross streets. Police are asking the public to stay away from the area. Nova Scotia Power is reporting an outage in the affected area.

Halifax Fire and Emergency, Halifax Regional Police and Nova Scotia Power are on the scene of a gas leak in the south end of Halifax. Police say the leak is on Queen Street, which has been closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic between Morris Street and Victoria Road. Fenwick Street is also closed. Nova Scotia Power says electricity has been cut to the area, affecting about 4,800 customers. There's no word yet on the cause.

By Dan Ahlstrand A drop in the price of gasoline in Nova Scotia on Friday morning. The Nova Scotia Energy Board used its weekly adjustment to lower the price for self-serve regular by 3.4 cents to a new minimum price of 141.6.The news was even better for those needing diesel. Fuel prices fell by 4.1 cents to 137.3.Twelve months ago, we were paying 1.75 for gas and 1.74 for diesel.

A forest fire in Richmond County remains out of control this morning. The Municipality of the County of Richmond says the fire started near Three Rivers Road in Framboise around 5 p.m. and has grown to more than 15 hectares. It has crossed at least one roadway and destroyed an old trailer that had been vacant for more than two decades. Officials said late Thursday there had been no containment. The county says one home was sprayed down as a precaution, and a sprinkler system was set up at another.

HRM officials say they are closing and de-designating the Geary Street green space as a designated encampment site. In a release to the media Wednesday morning, the municipality said that notices were issued Tuesday to individuals sheltering at the site, advising they must relocate by Sunday, June 22. The municipality says those currently sleeping rough will be supported in moving to indoor shelter options or, if necessary, to another designated outdoor location.
