    The first place IronPigs defeated the Red Sox 5-2 Saturday night. That's three straight wins for the Pigs. Buddy Kennedy started the scoring with a 2 run home run and Mick Abel was great on the mound. He had 9 strikeouts moving to 5-2 on the season. The two teams play again at 1:35 Sunday afternoon.

    After rain washed out everything Friday, the EPC quarterfinals finally began. Parkland knocked off Central Catholic 5-1Other EPC ResultsLiberty 5 PM East 4Nazareth 6 Stroudsburg 5Freedom 2 Whitehall 1The semifinals will be on Monday. In the Berks quarterfinals, there were just two games today. The rain playing a factor in Reading as well. Exeter advanced to the semis beating Fleetwood 4-1. In the other quarterfinal, Berks Catholic beat Wilson 3-1.

    Moravian came back from a single run deficit in Game 1 of their Landmark Tournament Saturday. They beat Wilkes 5-4 in extra innings. Jess Forder had the game winning walk-off hit.    IN Game 2 of the day, Moravian battled Catholic U, who swept them last week. Catholic U had a lead late in this one 4-2 in the 6th. Moravian scored 3 in the bottom of the frame. Forder had another go ahead hit. Moravian will play Catholic U at 11 am tomorrow.

    Kutztown softball had their backs against the wall against Charleston today but defeated them 3-1 thanks to Alexa Stevens' home run in the 7th inning. It was a big win for the Golden Bears as they stayed alive for the Atlantic Regional. Earlier in the morning, Bloomsburg beat Kutztown 8-6. It will be a rematch with the Huskies with first pitch at 10 am Sunday

    Reading won the opening game of the doubleheader in Binghamton 7-5 against the Rumble Ponies. After Trent Farquhar's grand slam, Reading built up a 5-0 lead. However Binghamton came back to tie the game. Then in the top of the 7th, Hendry Mendez hit a 2 run homer, sealing the win for the Fightins.      In the 2nd game, Binghamton shut out Reading 6-0. Jonah Tong threw a shutout for the Ponies. Binghamton used a 6 run 5th inning to pull away. Jett Williams, Nick Morabito, and Ryan Clifford all had RBI.
