An intersection near North Penn High School is getting a closer look. School board members voted last week to authorize a traffic study looking at the possible widening of Sumneytown Pike near Valley Forge Road. “We are looking to defer building of that sidewalk and some of the curbing until that road is widened, but we’re going to study it to make sure,” said Superintendent Todd Bauer.

LANSDALE — A long-discussed increase in Lansdale’s electric rates is now official. Council members voted unanimously on Wednesday night to approve a five percent rate hike, the town’s first in just over a decade. “What we’ll all be seeing is: in our May electric bill, we’ll see a five percent increase,” said borough Manager John Ernst.

One of Lansdale’s department heads is taking on a new title, as the borough works to fill two other big jobs. “I’m pleased to announce that Jason Van Dame will be stepping into the role of Director of Public Works,” said borough Manager John Ernst. “Jason’s deep knowledge of our projects, staff and consultants is an invaluable asset to our team,” he said.
