An approaching area of low pressure will be the main focus of the Sunday forecast. This system has had quite the history of wind damage and tornadoes over the southern United States. Locally, the damp/humid humid will translate to scattered morning showers with a line of storms likely during the afternoon/evening.

While this may seem like this should bring more moderate weather, the temperature difference will drive multiple storms into the region along with fluctuating periods between warmer and cooler air.

It was a gorgeous mid-January day with some sunshine and highs near 40°! We remain on the mild side of this current weather pattern through tomorrow. While there is a chance of a brief flurry west of the region overnight, any accumulations seem unlikely at this time. Monday features even more of a seasonable high as we rise into the upper 30s.
