There are other areas in town where people will be celebrating as well including businesses in the Historic Commercial Center District near Sahara Avenue and Maryland Parkway. One business shared how they will be ringing in the new year.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - In May, we told you about the thousands of seniors in need of affordable housing. Clark County reported it was 85,000 affordable housing units short. Now, construction is underway at Boulder Highway and Russell where more than 200 affordable senior housing units are being built. Clark County is hoping this will help address the need to house our most vulnerable population.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Kinship foster parents are caregivers who are parenting their relatives’ children. New changes within our state could help get more kinship parents licensed, helping to keep foster kids in safe and comfortable homes long-term, which is the desirable thing to do when a child is placed into foster care. “Make sure they are able to grow up in a home that is not only safe but stable,” said kinship caregiver Cindy Tarrant.

They are a dynamite team serving all of southern Nevada. “We are a full-time bomb squad,” said chief of fire investigations for city of Las Vegas and bomb squad Shon Saucedo. And that is not all. “We do wear a second hat as fire investigators for the city of Las Vegas,” said Saucedo.
