And now, she’s retiring after 40 years with the district. Patty Morris has been the assistant principal at Pinewood Elementary School in Stuart for the last nine years.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — As the school year wraps up for summer, one Palm Beach County high school is celebrating not one, not two, but three major milestones. Since 2019, the scholastic E-sports program at Palm Beach Lakes Community High School was just an elective course. This school year, it became the first E-sports CTE Academy in the district, with some pretty big state and national wins along the way.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Young Palm Beach County students are being recognized at the state level for their innovative work. Educators at West Palm Beach Junior Academy are challenging the norms of learning in the traditional classroom setting. Principal Marliano Smith says they wanted to go beyond the idea of a traditional science fair. We all know at science fairs you'd see plenty of exploding volcanoes, balloon rockets, and catapults.

To kick off this weekend of recognition, Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach held their second annual ‘Cancer Survivors Fashion Show’ on Friday morning. CBS12 News weekend morning anchor and reporter Dani Travis was the M.C. of the event. Hundreds of families and friends of survivors showed their support. The event featured 20 cancer survivors walking the runway set up in the atrium lobby at Good Sam.
