Defensive back’s late 56-yard touchdown fumble recovery gives Fran Brown biggest win in first season. With an opportunity to play spoiler and pride on the line, Syracuse stood firm against the University of Miami. Miami(10-1) visited Syracuse(8-3) for Kyle McCord’s last game in the dome. The Orange spoiled Miami’s chances at the ACC Championship game, winning 42-38. Cam Ward and Miami got off to a swift start and looked like they would dominate early.

Orange come back from 18-point deficit to win in overtime and gain bowl eligibility for the third year in a row. Virginia Tech came to the JMA dome and walked away with a loss in overtime, 38-31 Kyle McCord and company continued to struggle after last week’s poor performance until the second half, repeatedly shooting themselves in the foot.

In a season finale filled with grit and resilience, Syracuse Men’s Soccer defied the odds against #3 Pitt, finding the momentum they needed before the ACC tournament. Daniel Gaither Syracuse Men’s Soccer hosted #3 Pitt last night on the hill to finish the regular season. On a chilly autumn night, expectations were low for SU. The Orange had themselves a rollercoaster of a season and were without star forward Nicholas Kaloukian.

In a game filled with excellent defending, the lone goal came when there were no defenders allowed. Syracuse women’s soccer lost its fourth straight game to No. 8 UNC 1-0 Sunday after a 65th-minute penalty kick put the Tar Heels ahead. Despite an impressive defensive effort from the Orange defense, a costly defensive error gave UNC the lead. “Soccer is a funny sport, right? Sometimes the scoreline doesn’t tell the truth,” head coach Nicky Adams said.
