Contour Airlines (LF, Tupelo) and Spirit Airlines (NK, Fort Lauderdale International) have announced a partnership to increase connectivity connecting Essential Air Service (EAS) cities with major leisure destinations, according to a press release. While the routes have not been announced as yet, Spirit said it would introduce service to major leisure destinations from several of Contour’s EAS markets, expanding the use and reach of these airports.

US’s Avelo faces subsidy loss over deportation contract

William Tong, attorney general of Connecticut, has expressed serious concerns over a charter contract for Avelo Airlines (XP, Burbank) to operate deportation flights on behalf of the US Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration Control and Enforcement Agency.
