LeBron James crowned himself National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) men’s javelin champion in Kansas, USA, on Saturday. The New Mexico Junior College freshman landed the spear 69.27 metres. Barton Community College student Natasha Fox finished fourth in the women’s 400 metres hurdles in one minute, 00.70 seconds. Fox was part of the Barton team that finished seventh in the women’s 4x400m in 3:43.25. Elijah Joseph clocked 21.06 seconds for seventh spot in the men’s 200m final.

North/West emerged as Republic Bank-NAAATT Relay Festival champions at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, in Port of Spain, on Sunday. North/West won the opening event, Keiel Samuel, Aniqah Bailey, Omare Thompson and Shian Lewis teaming up for top spot in the mixed 4x800 metres relay in eight minutes, 38.33 seconds.

Chennai Moore struck double gold at the NAAATT Track and Field Series #5 meet, held at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, on Saturday. Moore returned a time of two minutes, 36.64 seconds in the girls’ under-13 800 metres for a comfortable cushion on Melissa Davis, the runner-up in 2:46.34. Moore was even more dominant in the 1,000m, the Cheetahs athlete clocking 3:23.11 to finish well ahead of second-placed Aquilah Greene (3:44.69). There was a middle distance double too for Ayele James.
