Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant always had a flare for the dramatics, and that was certainly the case in the final game of his career. It’s no secret that injuries hampered Bryant in the back half of his career and he was a shell of himself in his 20th and final season. In true Kobe fashion though, he turned back the clock in his final game and scored 60 points to lead the Lakers to a comeback victory over the Utah Jazz as the basketball world watched on in awe.

The biggest question mark surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers heading into the offseason is the status of LeBron James as while all signs point to him returning for another season, the 40-year-old is naturally taking some time to contemplate his future. After playing 22 seasons, there’s no denying that the end is near for James and he is likely asking himself how much longer he can keep playing, especially at an elite level.

The Los Angeles Lakers need to make significant improvements this offseason in order to get back into championship contention, but unfortunately they have limited resources to make it happen. The Lakers don’t have cap space and only have one tradable first-round pick, which means Rob Pelinka will need to work some magic in order to make the necessary roster upgrades.

The Los Angeles Rams announced on Friday that they have waived cornerback Derion Kendrick. The Rams drafted Kendrick in the sixth round out of Georgia in 2022 and he played 32 games for the team in his first two seasons, starting 18 of them. In those games, he recorded 92 total tackles, 14 passes defensed and one interception. Unfortunately, Kendrick’s third season with the Rams ended before it ever started as he tore his ACL during training camp and missed the whole year.

The good news is that the Rams caught the issue early, so hopefully Jackson has enough time to recover and be ready for Week 1. Even if he is unable to play at the start of the season, whenever he is healthy enough the Rams will gladly welcome him back to the lineup. As Rapoport mentioned though, the Rams have done a nice job of adding some depth to their offensive line in recent days, perhaps because they knew what Jackson was dealing with.

2025 Michael Conforto firmly in the mix for the worst player I’ve ever seen.

Hard to be a quality reliever with that last name.
