More than 7,000 customers are without power in Pasadena as outages were reported in the area, according to Pasadena Water and Power's outage map. The outages appeared to be affecting the areas of Garfield Heights, Washington Square, Olive Heights and Old Pasadena, according to the map. Residents reported outages near Lake Ave and Washington Boulevard as well as Orange Grove Boulevard and Allen Avenue. Officials with the Pasadena Police Department also reported the power was out at their building.

RIVERSIDE — A woman accused of killing her 2-year-old son at their Eastvale home pleaded not guilty Tuesday to first-degree murder and assault on a child resulting in great bodily injury or death. Xiu Xiu Sun, 34, allegedly killed Chris Cui in October 2022. Sun was arraigned before Riverside County Superior Court Judge Gail O’Rane, who scheduled a felony settlement conference for Feb. 27 at the Riverside Hall of Justice.

Wildfires driven by the worst windstorm in 10 years have blanketed Southern California, wreaking widespread destruction and misery. In the Pacific Palisades and Malibu, the Palisades fire has destroyed more than 1,000 buildings. In the San Gabriel Valley, hundreds of buildings have been damaged or destroyed by the Eaton fire with the communities of Altadena and Sierra Madre particularly impacted. In each area, the fires have left communities decimated.
