BRIDGEPORT — A former Manhattan immigration lawyer, being sought for allegedly stealing more than $500,000 from clients — the bulk from an Irish socialite — was arrested in Fairfield. Philip Teplen, 58, was taken into custody Wednesday night by Fairfield police at his home on Blue Bell Lane. During a hearing in Superior Court in Bridgeport on Thursday morning, Judge Robin Pavia ordered Teplen held in lieu of $500,000 bond, pending extradition proceedings.

BRIDGEPORT — Nearly 75 women, who claim in a lawsuits they underwent unnecessarily painful fertility procedures after a nurse stole their medication for personal use and swapped the vials with saline, have offered to settle their lawsuits with Yale University. The proposed settlements, filed in Superior Court, would top more than $118 million.
