The Ashburton Aviation Museum has a few other treasures on show, and what sets them apart from all the other aircraft, you can take them away. The museum shop has a wide selection of models available to purchase. They are a great gift idea or souvenir to remember your visit to the museum.

Visit image gallery to purchase the image. 10The Ashburton Aviation Museum has obtained another rare edition for its collection – something that saved the life of the men who used it. The museum has the escape crew capsule from an F-111A fighter jet. The capsule is made up of the complete two seat cockpit from the jet. The jet this cockpit belonged to was in the US Air Force and deployed to Thailand in 1972.

The Year 13 student from Mt Hutt College represented Ashburton County Lions at the Lions 202J District Young Speechmakers competition in Oamaru. Amelia was selected after seeing a Facebook post by the County Lions and putting her hand up.
