1 Introduction Preconception health describes the medical, behavioural and social risk factors of people of reproductive age (15–49 years) before or between pregnancies [1]. These factors, such as living with diabetes or obesity, dietary habits and living circumstances, influence people's lifelong health and well-being, as well as their chance of a healthy pregnancy and baby [2].
