    THE VOLUNTARY sector of the highly popular Clyde Cottage Nursery in Dunoon is facing closure after it was deemed no longer financially viable, bringing an end to a unique and much loved service of local childcare for more than 40 years. The decision to close the charity side of the nursery was taken during a meeting last week, which was attended by parents, nursery staff and a member of Argyll and Bute Councils early years team, which resulted in the facilitys committee collectively resigning.

    AFTER A mixed bag of projects carried out on the island by the Business Improvement District (BID), coordinator DL Gordon has outlined 2025’s objectives forthe organisation. Under her stewardship, successful projects such as the digital noticeboard installation in Guildford Square were carried out. However, the organisation was also responsible for the Christmas lights debacle, which left some residents disappointed.

The left back has pitched up at the Scottish Championship’s basement side, Airdrieonians, vying to get game time under Rhys McCabe’s stewardship for the latter half of the season.

However, folks were left disappointed after the show was less than they expected. Residents took to social media to voice their displeasure at the lack of investment into the town’s Christmas lights.

    Bute Island Radio got into the festive spirit this past weekend, taking part in the Bute Yard Christmas Market on Saturday and Sunday. The station set up shop alongside Erin and Amber at the Bute Yard stall, selling raffle tickets and spreading holiday cheer to market-goers. As if the atmosphere wasn’t festive enough, there was a special guest in attendance—none other than Father Christmas himself.
