By Darril Fosty,CardBiz (New York) The sports card market saw a dramatic jump from a $150-million-dollar industry in 1989 to $500 million in 1990. 1989-90 would mark the last year of the Topps-produced National Hockey League card monopoly. The following year, additional American companies would begin to produce cards - Pro Set, Upper Deck, and Score. Between 1986 and 1992, baseball cards had jumped from 250,000 cards per player to 6 million cards per player.
