The Los Angeles woman who was detained in Russia for more than a year over a donation toward Ukraine aid embraced her loved ones on Thursday upon her return to the U.S.Ksenia Karelina touched down on American soil on Thursday following her arrest in January 2024 for treason. Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) detained her during a visit to family in Russia for a $51.80 donation to a Ukraine aid charity. The woman was born in Russia before coming to the U.S. more than 10 years ago.

An investigation is underway after a speeding driver slammed into an oncoming car in South Los Angeles, killing himself and a 6-month-old baby in the other vehicle. Disturbing surveillance footage captured the moment a high-speed sedan traveling north struck a vehicle traveling south on Western Avenue near 47 th Street. The crash was reported just after 11:30 p.m. Monday in South LA's Vermont Square neighborhood. The driver of the sedan, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene.

Several bouquets of flowers and candles rest outside the home of a 13-year-old boy whose body was found off the side of the road in Oxnard last week. Oscar Omar Hernandez was reported missing on March 30 after visiting a soccer coach in the Lancaster area. His body was found April 2 and that same coach, who was identified as 43-year-old Mario Edgardo Garcia Aquino, is now facing a murder charge in connection with the teen's death.

A father came face to face with three masked men inside his Studio City home, but he was ready, armed and chased those men out of his home. The three men were captured on security footage prowling outside of the home, tapping the windows and the dog door to check if any animals were inside. "Three men covered basically head to toe. windbreaker hoodies only their eyes are visible," the homeowner said. They used a device to shatter a double pane glass door and walked into the house.
