Plans to build a large vessel dock at Schenectady's Mohawk Harbor have been scuttled. What was envisioned a magnet for tourism has met a quiet end. The Mohawk Harbor large vessel dock project has been canceled. Schenectady City Engineer Chris Wallin says the project that aimed to accommodate large boats, yachts and the Erie Canal Cruise Line fell victim to delays caused by the pandemic.

The city of Hudson is gearing up for the Democratic Primary, with a political newcomer challenging sitting mayor Kamal Johnson.  40-year-old Joe Ferris entered the Hudson mayoral race at the end of March, saying he was motivated to run because he believes the current administration lacks competence and doesn't communicate well with residents. "And those two issues, when they combine, build a deep lack of trust among our neighbors, our constituents," Ferris said.

Leaders say a $67 million, seven-story, mixed-use development will transform Troy’s waterfront. Affordable housing can be a key building block in urban revitalization. That was the message Wednesday as officials cut the ribbon at the new John P. Taylor Apartments, which offer 141 affordable units and ground-floor retail space. The construction replaces the complex's two original towers that were demolished in 2022 after having been vacant for more than a decade.
