The schedule is out, and by now you know the main storylines: The Pack finally open the season at home, for the first time in the Matt LaFleur era. They play on Thanksgiving for the third-straight year. Five of their division games come in the final seven games of the season. The Green Bay Packers have three two-game road trips (they had just one last year). They play the Chicago Bears twice in a 13-day span late. They close at the Purple Palace.

The NFL draft experts have issued their report cards, and let’s just say Gutey and his staff did not make this year’s honor roll. The general consensus seems to be that the Green Bay Packers were in the bottom 25% in the league when it comes to their 2025 draft class. Of course, we all know this means absolutely nothing. It takes 3-4 years to properly evaluate a team’s draft.

This is my 16th year putting together a seven-round mock draft for the Green Bay Packers, and I have yet to hit on their Day 1 pick. I seem to get one guy right most years (Romeo Doubs and Kitan Oladapo most recently), but Gutey always finds a way to surprise me on opening night. I’m less certain than usual this year. I think there are six guys on their board who are projected to be gone, but if one of them falls to them, I think they’ll scoop him up.

The NFL draft is less than a week away, and Green Bay Packers fans all have the same things on their minds. Is this the year Gutey pounces on a receiver in the first round? Will he trade up? Will he infuriate the thousands of Cheeseheads on hand and trade back? I think it’s safe to say he won’t trade completely out of the first round, and there’s a decent chance he will move off of No. 23, either up or down. All I know is that I like 10 guys a lot and would be happy with any one of them.

Comparing the end of the 2023-24 campaign to the end of this season may have made Green Bay Packers fans wonder if the team had taken a step back. After bursting onto the scene in Jordan Love‘s first year as a starter, the Packers offense sputtered toward the finish line this year with three consecutive losses, including their swift exit from the playoffs in a 22-10 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Don’t care about the tush push, but the Packers taking a loss on a Wednesday in May was a nice pick-me-up

Yep. Call me crazy, but I’d have preferred Jokic and company.

@JonKrawczynski @TCHeadCheese looks like Trent Tucker is getting the matchup he wanted.
