    The unsettled weather of spring of 2025 will continue, as the National Weather Service has posted a frost advisory for Brown, Bartholomew and Monroe counties. The advisory is in effect from 3 to 9 a.m. Wednesday, forecasting temperatures as low as 34 degrees that will result in frost formation. “Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitiveoutdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered,” the advisory says.

    Brown County and much of central Indiana that remain under a flood warning until Tuesday morning can expect a hard freeze overnight, according the to the National Weather Service. Temperatures could fall as low as 22 degrees early Tuesday morning, the weather service said. “Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing,” the warning said.

    Brown County Commissioners have declared a disaster emergency due to widespread flooding caused by storms that are forecast to continue through the weekend. Roads have become impassible throughout the county and several people have been rescued from vehicles flooded while trying to cross flooded roads. A flood warning remains in effect until 11 p.m. Saturday for Brown County and other nearby areas.

    Brown County Schools are closed today and the county is under an orange-level travel watch “due to significant flooding and road damage making many routes impassable,” Brown County Emergency Management reported overnight. The watch issued by Brown County Commissioners means conditions are threatening to the public and only essential travel, such as to and from work or in emergency situations, is recommended. Hundreds of homes are without electricity and have been for several hours after the storm.

    A march opposing what organizers consider anti-democratic actions by the administration of President Donald Trump and billionaire adviser Elon Musk will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in Nashville. Despite a rainy forecast, organizer Patricia Krahnke said in a phone interview that as of Wednesday morning, more than 75 people have signed up to participate in the rally at the Brown County Courthouse.
